Yana Jurovitzki, MPH
Yana Jurovitzki is currently the Director of Public Affairs for Blue Ribbon Advocacy Alliance. Prior to joining BRAA, Yana worked with RetireSafe, a grassroots organization that advocates and educates on behalf of America's seniors on issues regarding Social Security, Medicare, health, and financial wellbeing, as the Director of Communication and Advocacy.
Yana has also worked as a care manager with the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she collected and analyzed health information obtained from patients and their families, as well as managed programs that prevented elderly and disabled patients from nursing home placement. Working with seniors, their families, the team supervisor, and nurse consultant, she was able to create the most effective and appropriate care plan to prevent nursing home placement by identifying seniors' needs and creating personalized plans that allow them to remain safely in their home. Yana also managed financial and resource allocations by matching the appropriate service to each individual need while controlling costs.
Previously, Yana worked at Men's Health Network, where she led the development of several policy briefings. Yana was active in gaining recognition of Men's Health Week and contributed to various research initiatives and publications in collaboration with the American Journal of Men's Health, a SAGE publication. Yana constructed and delivered presentations on men's health issues at several large employers across the nation.
Yana is experienced in long term care case management and has been involved with numerous national and local political campaigns in the State of Utah. Yana received her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Russian from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah and a Master's of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City, Utah.
